Summer holiday search - hotel with waterslides!

Hello, thanks for reading this. I’m hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of Mumsnet as our summer holiday search is driving me round the twist this year!

We have two tweens so looking for a slightly more grown up holiday than before as neither ever enjoyed kids clubs and the typical smaller kids entertainment is now a little too young for them. Here is our wish list, can anyone recommend any hotels they have been to that fit the bill? Huge thanks in advance as at this rate only the dog will be going on holiday!

Four or Five Star hotel with good waterslides - not water park adjacent.
Europe with short airport transfers, nothing over an hour
All inclusive or half board - with buffet
Decent rooms with either outdoor space or a terrace
Ideally there would be some interesting things to see or do outside of the hotel - anything cultural would be a bonus for me.

Budget is £5k for five - seven nights

I feel like we are not asking for too much but maybe we are???

Try Louis Phaethon Beach. You might be able to get something just within your budget or slightly over.

We went to Creta Maris in Crete (5 star) with Jet2 a couple of years ago - that had great water slides and several pools plus tennis courts, basketball courts etc. It has its own beach and the food was amazing. I'm not sure if it meets the requirements for things to do in the surrounding area and I think that's where you might be asking too much - large all inclusives with water slides + things to do locally are hard to find I think! But somewhere like Menorca might be good for that because it's smaller? There's a lovely Melia hotel (5 star) in Cala Galdana and that's a great place with lovely beach, boat trips and lots of local restaurants, bars etc and can easily hire a car to Cuitadella. But no water slides - but there might be other hotels that do. Sorry I know I've not met your exact requirements but hopefully helped a bit!

I agree try Menorca

Such stunning beaches annd coves and if you hire a car you could explore different ones. I think there’s lots to see and do if you have a car and older kids/just adults.

Hotels wise many of them seem to offer water slides.

Have a look at the upgraded rooms in Club Hotel Aguamarina - in menorca. Rest of the rooms and overall hotel pretty run down but they have fab water slides (as well as a water park behind
you) and the upgraded hotel rooms look very very nice with amazing sea views. You could go all inc for the drinks snacks lunch by the pool then just eat out at night as the food is meant to be a bit naff.

or look at the Royal Son Bou also in menorca

My daughter is 6 so younger than yours but she is a real adrenaline junkie and her number one request was ‘good water slides’. I’ve booked Atlantica
Ocean Beach Resort for this summer as the slides looked fab as did the whole place!
