Anyone used ‘plant rail holidays’ 🚂

I’m about to book a holiday that’s going to cost a lot, it’s for my partners 60th birthday and I’ve received a small inheritance earlier so I have the cash (even though there’s plenty other things I could spend the money on that would make more sense! ) I've never spent a lot of money on a holiday before and I’m looking for reassurance that this company really does provide a fantastic service?

Never heard of them. If this is a train holiday, we’ve used Byway who seem v good. Sensible and helpful with booking a custom trip which will happen in august.

Do you mean Planet Rail?

I would never use a company like them, preferring to sort my own holidays by rail, but their online reviews seem to be excellent.

I used an independent travel agent to arrange a rail holiday. It was excellent to have their help and cover not once, but twice, when we were stranded in the evening with nowhere to sleep due to train cancellations (once in the UK, once in Europe), and the knock on effects of that (holding our hire car in the depot for an extra 24 hrs; telling our destination hotel we'd be a day late; organising an extra night en route). As our contract was with them, they covered our out of pocket expenses.

Thanks so much, that’s reassuring 🤞

I did try to book it myself and even tried a local travel agent but it was actually going to be more expensive, I think these specialised travel agents must have some sort of tie up with the train companies 🙁
