Carrara marble quarry tour in Italy - has anyone done this?

Hi all,

I’m visiting Cinque Terre this summer - in the last week of August - and will be based in La Spezia (one of the villages there) for my trip.

I’ve seen Carrara is not too far away, so I’d like to do a visit to the marble quarries there, probably via an organised tour. Slightly random idea, but I recently watched the film The Brutalist, where they had these incredible shots of the marble quarries, which piqued my interest!

Has anyone done a marble quarry tour in Carrara before? If so, do you have any tips on this please?

Thanks!

I haven't, but I'm interested to know if it's good. La Spezia is more of a city than a village btw, but it is handy for the train to Cinque Terre.
