Family holiday young adult DC possibly early July

Looking at possibly our last family holiday with adult DC as a celebration/treat without a car in Europe that isn’t too hot temperature wise or hectic (for reasons I don’t want to go into) in early July or isn’t too hilly for 4 to 7 days.

Thought about a city break but everywhere will be too hot and hectic. We could do with a variety of nice restaurants within easy walking distance, a pool to relax by in the shade.

Any suggestions please for location and accommodation?

Thanks

Fly to Barcelona and train to Sitges?

Is Sitges a lot cooler than Barcelona as we once went there one July and the heat was oppressive.

How about a Norwegian cruise?
We did a couple of cruises when DC were late teens / early 20s and it was a great success. Ours were Med / Adriatic so hot but northern Europe or even Iceland might suit you?
This way you get the pool and good food but can be as active as you like on trips out.

One of the scandi countries? Oslo or Copenhagen

The Hague in the Netherlands is a comfortable temperature in July and very well connected by public transport to interesting places like Delft, Rotterdam and Gouda. There’s masses to do (even for teens!) and it’s easy to get to the lovely beach at Scheveningen. It’s as flat as a pancake so we found cycling a doddle.
