Hello, I'm looking to take my daughter away for a few nights after her GCSEs. Can anyone recommended somewhere for us to go? Must be safe and good for sunbathing and maybe a little bit of shopping. Spa would be a bonus but on a bit of a budget so not necessity. Thanks

Seville? Good for shopping, lots of hotels with rooftop pools (for sunbathing)- eg: Hesperia Sevilla, which also has a spa, and you'd get lovely hot weather.

The Algarve is probably the best budget-friendly option for a beach holiday with spa amenities.

Plus if you stay in/near Albuferira, just outside in Guia is the Algarve shopping centre. Buses are very good/reasonable in Portugal. Eating out is very relaxed and everyone was very friendly. It felt very safe. Flight times about three hours. I have also not heard of any tourist protest in Portugal, unlike some Spanish resorts.

Malaga - 10 mins from airport to city centre, lovely city beach, great shops including massive Sephora and Zara, amazing restaurants, you can walk everywhere, very safe … and still authentically Spanish despite being on the Costa!

I've ended up booking Lanzarote as it had the nicest hotel within my budget. If anyone has any tips, please feel free to share!
