Hi , I’ve been thinking about going away for Xmas but not long haul
Im a bit wary of Gran Canaria as weather like anywhere can be hit and miss
Any recommendations please or has anyone been to Gran Canaria at Christmas ?

Gran Canaria is lovely at Christmas we go every year for Christmas and New Year. A steady 24 to 26 degrees.

Go south. Puerto Rico if you want it busy and lively. Puerto de Mogan if you like it quiet.

We stayed in La Palma just after Christmas and had a lovely week, we had rain one afternoon but the rest of the time the weather was great and even swam in the natural rock pools. La Palma is usually a bit cooler than some of the other Canary Islands so you should be fine (but obviously there are no guarantees). We were on the island for the 6 January (Three Kings Day) which is a fun and joyful family celebration, would definitely recommend Spain at this time of year.

The airport is busy on the Saturday before Christmas when people are trying to fit in two weeks but nothing difficult. I’ve been to other airports during school holidays that are far busier.

Weather is lovely but not scorching 30 degrees.
