We are on the South coast and thinking of a last minute trip to the Isle of Wight. Where would you recommend? Hotels, things to do etc? We have dd9 and ds12. TIA

We’ve just got back, we visited Osbourne House, Carrisbrooke Castle, The Dinkey Sanctuary, Model Village. On past visits we’ve gone to The Needles, took a chair lift down to beach, then went on a boat trip out to the needles. The Zoo is quite good.

My son (10) got back on Friday. As above plus Blackgang Chine, a sweet factory and fossil hunting on the beach.

As others have mentioned:
Blackgang
Robin Hill (it's reopened, yay)
Carisbrooke
Osborne
Donkey sanctuary
Godshill
Needles (chair lift, rib ride and battery)
Fossil hunting on the beach (you can book organised trips)
Horse riding on the beach (if you are riders)
Sandown zoo
Havenstreet
Shanklin Chine

Amazon world is a good short day too. Has a massive soft play and they do the free return so if one day its chucking it down its good for a back up. There's also the tapnell farm park

Great ideas, thank you! Does anyone have any hotel recommendations?

Just found this thread. We've booked at Landguard Holiday Park (Park Dean) for 4 days in the summer hols and based on recent reviews am a bit anxious about the state of the caravans. Has anyone been last year? Would you recommend it there? We have a pre teen DC. Thanks
