husband and I looking for a short 4 night break. We are thinking of Istanbul leaving early July.
has anyone been at this time of year? Is it unbearable hot? Would be looking at mainly doing a little exploring and lazing around hotel pool.

Just a travel tip. If you are wandering around and impulsively your husband decides to have the Turkish barber full treatment, absolutely make sure you ask the price first. My friend & her husband were asked for almost €200 at the end. They negotiated down to €100, but were still majorly ripped off and it really ruined their short break there.

Loved Istanbul but wouldn’t go in July.

I went in May and it was delightful. Husband went in March and it was cold and snowing.

Loved Istanbul, we went in August and it was lovely temperature, mid to high 20's.

Me and the kids don't like too hot weather and we found it very bearable

@BeepBoopBop same goes for massages etc- my friend ‘presumed’ it would be quite cheap and it was expensive .

It will be very hot in July, probably mid 30s so it depends how good you are with the heat. It's a beautiful city
