i think the miro museum is great. parc guell obviously. all the gaudi architecture appeals to kids.

can't help with hotels as i have only stayed in backpack 6 to a room type places.

Rome is lovely. We had a fab family city break there for 4 days when DD was 7/8.

I'll watch this thread with interest for ideas that would appeal to a not-sports-mad 11yo girl as I would love to take her to Barcelona. I htink with a friend, mums and daughters

i seem to remember a transvestite bar, everything was covered in clingfilm, including a car outside.

There's a funfair on Mount Tibidabo that might be good (though it's quite antiquated compared to the theme parks they might be used to). Montjuic has all the 1992 Olympic sites to look around.

The Sex museum on The Ramblas

You can do tours of the Nou Camp.

There's a beach, a zoo, I think an aquarium.

Take the train over to Montserrat, then the cable car up the mountain - loads of paths to run about on/explore up there.
