3 days out of Sydney with teenagers?

Would anyone have any recommendations for a 3 night trip out of Sydney between Christmas and New Year. Need to drive not fly. Family of 6 including 3 teenagers. Was wondering about Jervis Bay? Thank you.

Jervis Bay is lovely, beautiful beaches but not much else for teenagers. Other options could be overnight stay at the zoo in Canberra, house boat on the Hawkesbury River, or Blue Mountains with hiking and zig zag railway. How old are the teenagers and what do they like?

You could stay in Newcastle or Nelson Bay, and from there visit Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary, Anna Bay dunes, Tomaree Head Summit walk, Gan Gan lookout, and Toboggan Hill park.
