Hi everyone, looking for recommendations on family-friendly areas and hotels in KL and Singapore. Hotels in the centre seem to be geared towards business travellers so we accept we may need to choose somewhere a bit further away.
Many thanks for any advice

I don't know KL but go to Singapore regularly with my kids.

With that age I'd look really seriously at Sentosa. We have stayed at the Shangri-La quite a few times - good kids club and the pool is amazing for kids of all ages - some really shallow areas walled off from the min pool, a splash pad, kids waterslides and a good sized main pool. The buffet breakfast is excellent. Most/all of the rooms have a balcony so you can sit out while your child is sleeping.

It's a taxi ride or shuttle to get places but taxis aren't too expensive and there is so much to do in different parts of Singapore. With a 4yo I'd definitely prioritise the zoo and Gardens by the Bay - along with the domes there's a great (huge) playground and splash area that mine have loved from being tiny until our last trip when they were 12/8.

I’d suggest Sentosa too. I reckon the night safari at the zoo, the art/science museum and possibly the ice cream museum would also be hits.

Definitely the Renaissance (I think it’s a Marriott hotel) in KL. very family friendly with a large playground and wet play/area.

It's been a long time since we went and we were only doing a short stopover but we found KL great for kids. The Malaysians love children and were very tolerant of our toddler. We were opposite the Petronas Towers. I'm not sure which hotel we stayed in, it might have been Traders and although it was a more corporate hotel it was fine. On the way back we stayed near the airport for one night and that was more of a tourist hotel.
