Hong Kong midnight stopover - recommendations?

We have an 8 hour stopover in HK next week but unfortunately it’s from midnight. Is there anything we can do if we leave the airport? We are night owls but I don’t know if much of HK is open.

HK is super safe so you're absolutely fine walking around all night in town.

I'd drop your bags at the airport, then get a taxi into town (or the MTR if it's still running (I think it goes till 1am). Walk on the Star Ferry waterfront to see the buildings - then, as you're killing time, I'd follow one of the many self-guided walking trails that are online and of course at night you can see the outsides of buildings without any issues - eg. this one to see some of old Hong Kong:

End up with dim sum at Sun Hing which opens at 3am in Kennedy Town.

There’ll be bars open in LKF and Wanchai if you fancy a drink. I used to live/work in HK and rolling out of a bar at 6am on a Tuesday was more frequent than it should have been. 😉
