this is where we're going and it's not looking good

Anyone else going to Europe at half term?

Any tips for a rain soaked holiday?

Anyone just care to share a bit of apprehension???

Ooooh, it's really not good...

Oh no oh no oh no....
Hope you're not camping.

PeaGreene · 19/05/2008 18:32

Mobile home thankfully, but even so... DS will be so fed up if it's too cold to go in the pool.

Will be so weird if it rains a lot.

Fine for sightseeing though I guess, last year we struggled with the heat a bit when we were trying to do that so every cloud / silver lining I guess. Will just have to take a brolly!

How about you Kammy?

More positive thoughts: Last year was a nightmare on the day of arrival cos we'd had to dress for flight during the night and until we could get to the campsite it was Flippin Boiling. Won't have that problem this year.

[attempt to be optimistic]

No one else ever been on a holiday with a lot of rain? Good stories?

We're off to La Sirene in Languedoc next week and forecast is not good. Surely the rain must stop but I rang the campsite this morning and wind is the problem so you cannot go by the temperatures cos of wind chill ! What a howl! What is the minimum temperature that kids can bear an outdoor pool? I'm seriously thinking of pulling the plug on it...

My 10 day forecasting link below has improved slightly since originally posting

I think kids tolerate all kinds tbh, a kind of Holiday Determination sets in. (Or it that just my son?) Whether you want to nurse them through the ensuing cold is another matter!

Phew! Much improved forecast now. Was getting really miserable about it.

Huh? How has the forecast changed just like that?

PeaGreene · 22/05/2008 21:50

Odd isn't it. I guess they just can't forecast very accurately more than a few days in advance.

Crossing fingers now and STEPPING AWAY from any more torturing myself with weather forecasts.

What will be will be.
