Where to stay in Crete near Chania?

Flying to Chania in mid June and still haven’t booked accommodation. Looking for recommendations for area to stay in within 1 hour drive of Chania airport with husband and 2 year old. Ideally a quieter, more traditional place close to beach, with a few restaurants or tavernas to pick from. Any recommendations please?

Have a look at Almyrida or Kalyves. They are both within your 1 hour preference but are both lovely seaside small towns.

We regularly go to Almyrida and love it. Kalyves is also nice

Agia Marina, Geogopoli and platanos are all very nice and only about 20-30 minutes drive from Chania.

We’ve stayed in Sun city just outside Chania. It’s a family run place with its own pool, five min walk to the beach and lovely tavernas nearby.
