Hi all
We are hoping to do a trip in October half term and first week November, my kids get 2 weeks off.
It'll be a last big holiday before my eldest turns 18 so we wanted to do something special.
We've never been to America as a family so would love to explore. Not that interested in the theme parks but love nature and landscapes and of course all the sites you see in the movies.
Can anyone recommend a multi trip? Not sure what the weather will be like in various places that time of year?
Google is getting me confused

You need to check carefully, most northern parts will be getting really cold, you may get snow, national and state parks may already close for visitors. The leaf changing season is mostly over then.

We went to Canada in October and wore layers, gloves, hats and had frost in the morning and 15 degrees at lunchtime.

The southern states - check when hurricane season ends.

I would look at maybe California/Nevada.

Alternatively - expensive and a long travel but amazing Hawaii. We loved Big Island and Maui.

I've always wanted to go to Hawaii.
Did you travel around or stay in one place?
If the weather is good might be the long haul we need.

We did Big Island 5 days and Maui 5 days. It was end November /beginning of December and it was warm enough to sun anth at the hotel pool but no too hot to explore the island

Around that time of year i’d do Boston/New York. We’ve done it before, didn’t drive but travelled on the Amtrak which is so convenient and the scenery was beautiful.

We also did a couple of days in Salem in October which was fabulous if you’re into Halloween.

We also did an organised day trip to New Hampshire. Stunning scenery and lots of photo opportunities.

I’ve been to Florida at that time of year, twice, but never it is hurricane season and we did get lucky with that, weather very good otherwise, plenty of nature to see in the Everglades and the Keys
