Any recommendations of things to do, restaurants etc? Going for 3 nights with DH. No kids 🥳

We really, really loved a day trip we did to Mostar and Kravice waterfalls.

I liked Dubrovnik, but the small old town can get a bit overwhelming as its sooo busy.

Omg the ice cream!! 😋

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 10/05/2025 17:40

Walking the city walls is good but it is expensive.

there is a cool bar that is on the rocks and you can sit and watch people jump in it’s called Buza Bar I think

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 10/05/2025 17:40

We also did a boat trip to some caves you could swim in which was fun

You can get a ten-min boat to the peacock island! I forget its name but it’s beautiful and the peacocks are so tame! They also have a museum and the GOT throne there for pictures.

LittleGreenDuck · 10/05/2025 17:57

Cable car up to the museum, mooch around the museum and then lunch or dinner at the Panorama Restaurant. Absolutely stunning views, book in advance to guarantee a table with a view.

Can get the cable car or walk back down.

Dubrovnik is amazing! One of our fave places to go. Deffo recommend a boat trip, and lunch or dinner at Panorama on top of the mountain (book early for a chance of first row seating with incredible views). The cable car up and down is a fun novelty too, and the museum at the top is also worth a visit. Incredibly interesting and emotional! Boat trip is worth doing too - we did a sunset cocktail cruise which was fab. The ice cream (as another poster has mentioned) is absolutely out of this world. The place near the old harbour was our fave - Peppinos.
Just mooching around the old town is magical. So many cats, too!
Have a look on TripAdvisor and make a note/book any that take your fancy. Adds to the excitement 😎
Banje beach is nice for a dip if you fancy a paddle.

Lokrum Island just across the bay from the old harbour is where the peacocks / iron throne is. Cable car to Mount Srd, wonderful views and have a look at the homelands war museum up there. Most of the restaurants in the old city are expensive & not fab quality but if you move back from the stradum a bit there are a few gems. Walk the walls but do it early morning it gets very hot up there. Banje Beach is around 5 mins walk from the old city. Cavtat is a nice day trip, take a water taxi. If you are only there for 3 days i wouldn’t bother with side trips to Mostar etc. Take an island boat tour. It’s a wonderful city. Enjoy.

Get the boat over to Cavtat and you have a huge choice of fab restaurants.

I'm laughing at this because I hate cats 🙈🙈 are they very tame or just stay away unless you engage them?

😹😹 oh you’ll see LOTS of cats. Yes, generally they stay away. They are pestered by enough tourists lol.

Cable car up, wine and food at the panorama restaurant at the top, fabulous views. Then do ziplining. Great.

when doing castle steps, do it early, and take a water break halfway round.

Eat at Nautika and ask for an evening sea view on the terrace. Our best meal.

Boat over to the island and go swimming in the small lake there.

Eat lunch at the port Gradska Kavana Arsenal Restaurant. Superb food.

Agree with the Gradska Arsenal restaurant choice - we had breakfast on the terrace there one morning and it was wonderful! Breakfast bellinis to start the day 😋
