Lanzarote - Will It Be Cold?

I’ve upset and panicked myself a bit over our trip to Lanzarote next week (Wednesday to Sunday) by checking the weather. It looks like it’s going to be particularly windy with real feel temperatures 12-19C.

We’re staying at Bluebay in Costa Teguise. It’s a cheaper holiday, yes, but it’s all I could afford this year, and DD4 is really looking forward to lots of swimming pool.

Are we going to be looking at a cold, windy holiday?

We do have a hire car so won’t be stuck in the resort at least.

Hope you have a great time!

I’m in Puerta Calera as we speak. Been lovely all day. Slightly chillier in the late afternoon/evening.

Just a wee update for anyone that searches the thread! We’re in Lanzarote now, it’s Thursday. Definitely cold in the pools and I’m glad I brought a thermal shortie wetsuit for my DD (Mountain Warehouse, £17, worth every penny). Lots of people are in the pool normally but she has asthma so it’s the best option. All kids wearing at least sleeves and shorts in the pool though.

It is warm enough to sit and enjoy the sun but we’ve much appreciated a proper t-shirt or light jumper rather than vests and dresses when out and about! When the sun goes behind a cloud and it’s windy it’s chilly.

Having a good holiday though with less cloud and wind forecast for Saturday at least. ☀️

Well, it wasn’t any better today (Saturday). Unrelenting wind, and feels cold when the sun goes behind the clouds. We tried the south of the island at Playa de Flamingo for a beach day yesterday, predicted full sun and no wind, but it was again relentlessly windy. Should have done my research more, I realised it was “breezy” but not quite as bad as it has been. We’ve still made the best of it since we had the hire car and it’s a short holiday but boy I’m glad we didn’t have a full week booked!

Currently in Playa Blanca and it's really quite hot! I've come inside as have started to burn a bit. Cooler in evenings but a thin cardigan is plenty and luckily our pool is heated to take any chill off as it hasn't had the lond summer to warm it yet.

Same - currently sitting by the warm pool in the shade because it’s very warm but with a lovely warm breeze

I sorely regret not checking if the pool was heated at Bluebay! Again, I should have researched more. A friend assured me it was fine - I saw her the weekend before leaving and her husband corrected her that their pool def had been heated. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I also didn’t realise Costa Teguise was so much windier.

As it’s our last night I’m going to hunt for a really nice spot for dinner to end on a high.

Nice sheltered beaches in playa blanca.
We love seeing the fish at mariana Calero.
Ranch texas is quite good

I went to the same resort in February and the pools were heated, but I swam! Should be fine, but windy possibly, coler at night.

We went once in March and it was cold and wet but May should be fine
