New Year Holiday with Teens

I’d absolutely love to take my teens DD 18 & DS15 away this New Year somewhere really memorable and fun for a week.

A depressing but relevant detail is that it’s quite likely to be my last one with them & DH as I have a terminal illness which can be unpredictable, so there are lots of ifs, buts and maybe’s floating around and I’ll probably plan now, book later, but I’d love to make a plan nonetheless.

I’m thinking of two options depending on what’s going on with me.

Best case scenario: Plan A

Somewhere in Europe - short haul flight or train maybe. Not opposed to boats/cruises. I’m looking for easy, but amazing - is that even a thing? 😄

We went to a ski resort earlier this year so not looking for snow this time.

or Plan B - if I need to stay closer to home.

Somewhere in the UK - I’m thinking cosy, I see a lake in this plan, daytime activities and fireworks- preferably onsite. I know Centre Parcs fits the bill quite nicely here, but we have a historical thing of going there with some extended family members and no offence to them, but I’d like it to be just us for this one, but also concerned the kids might find it boring with just the 4 of us in comparison.

If you’ve had a great New Years break that you’d absolutely recommend and teens would enjoy, please fire away 🙂

I am sorry to hear of your illness.

we went to krakow for 5 nights last new year and did a full day trip to the mountain resort of Zakopane. The whole trip was fantastic
there’s so much to see and do in krakow.
we had a 16 /15 and 10 yr old with us. I would highly recommend it for a European new year break
