Went in February. Shuttle busses regular reliable, drop you at hotel doors, provide nescesary car seat etc

Littletreefrog · 08/05/2025 19:17

Flybus is really easy but if there is more than two of you a taxi will be roughly the same price and take you door to door.

CraftyGin · 09/05/2025 00:08

We used Flybus. It was about 45 minutes to a little bus station on the edge of the city centre, followed by a smaller bus to take you to specific stops/hotels.

It was easily - can see it from the airport exit.

Thanks. Theres 4 of us, no car seats required, so a taxi might be the better option?

Thanks for posting this. I'm off to Rejkyavik in 3 weeks, so reading with interest.
does the Flybus have to be pre-booked?

Pogmochluais · 09/05/2025 07:12

We got a shuttle bus that stopped at a number of hotels. It was very straightforward. It is not a big airport or city.

Boomboomboomboom · 09/05/2025 07:13

We used a pre booked taxi through Get Your Guide - was cheaper than catching the flybus for us all

bruffin · 09/05/2025 07:14

I think we got a taxi but it might have been through travel agency as we were doing a fly drive

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/05/2025 07:27

Flybus from outside the airport. Get tickets on the plane or the bus. They take you to a bus station where you pick up the right shuttle bus for your hotel. They'll tell you which one you need.

TizerorFizz · 09/05/2025 07:57

Fly drives usually collect car at airport.

That's what we did with 4 of us and it was the same price as FlyBus. We used BSR they were fantastic with great communication.

It’s really easy to drive in Iceland. Have a look at car hire from the airport. I’ve been a few times and it’s relatively cheap. Also means you can get out and about into wild Iceland! We drove each time (summer and winter) and my husband is not super confident driving abroad - he found it fine.

Igmum · 09/05/2025 09:41

Shuttle buses are excellent. They are regular, reliable and have multiple drop off points all round the city so there’s bound to be one near your hotel.

moogdroog · 09/05/2025 10:38

Flybus was really easy - taxi for 4 would have been about the same price, but our DCs were just able to squeak in on children's tickets, so was a bit cheaper.
