European city break in November- mild weather

Has anyone been at this time of year? Looking to go away as a brief respite from UK gloom and the long christmas build up.
Know that it won't be hot but would love to have an increased chance of sunshine and mild weather (ie can sit outside at a cafe at lunch). Would probably be looking to go first half if November. Need some inspiration, ideally no more than 2.5 hours away!

We went to Seville last November (first week of the month). It was fabulous, highly recommend. The weather was low 20s, although the week before had been mid teens, so no guarantees!

Palma is nice and you might even get a couple of hours on the beach. The big attractions like the cathedral, the castle, and the wooden train to Sóller are not oversubscribed once the summer tourist hordes have gone.

My sister enjoyed Athens then

Just about anywhere in southern Europe would fit the bill for a short break in November - I’ve been to Barcelona, South of France (near Nice), Venice and Florence around then and it was possible to eat outside comfortably for lunch in all of them but mostly too cool for dinner. Worth noting that Venice and Florence don’t really have much of a ‘low season’ any more - they’re packed throughout the year. Seville and Palma as mentioned by PP would also be lovely in late autumn.

I went to Nerja southern Spain and it was ridiculously hot. A beautiful place to visit.

I know you said Europe, but would you consider Marrakesh? The flight isn’t too long, it will be warm enough to sit outside and it’s got the bonus of not having a big Christmas build up!

We went to Seville in December and Malaga in Feb and weather was glorious both trips.

DH burnt his forehead sitting in the Plaza mayor in Seville in November for a couple of hours and he isn't super pale

Anywhere in southern Europe! Or consider Miami?

We went to Barcelona in November last year and had fantastic weather. There were people swimming in the sea (not me mind you)!

Rome was lovely in November- sat outside in the sunshine in a dress and denim jacket.

Shoemadlady · 08/05/2025 21:31

Seville, the weather is still great out of season.

CoolShoeshine · 08/05/2025 21:36

Seville seems a popular shout, also like the sound of Rome. Happy to hear that many places are still nice in November. Off to check prices!

Seville

I think the weather is generally great mainland southern Europe. Not so warm further East - Greece etc. Sun is bright but it’s cold and getting wet.

Barcelona has my month and a half behind/ before uk rule. Up to Christmas it’s a month and half behind - October is like August November feels like late September . January feels like early March.

Springhassprungxx · 08/05/2025 22:10

Venice

I was in southern alps /northern Provence last November and the weather was lovely. But suspect that Seville or Marrakech would be more reliable.
