I'm looking for a beach holiday with lots of activities including water sports, kids are 10, 12 & 14 we only have a week so don't want to travel too far. Anyone any recommendations?

What kind of budget do you have? Neilson holidays specialise in this but they can be pricey.

UnaOfStormhold · 07/05/2025 13:56

Neilson are excellent for this, and Mark Warner have a similar offering though I haven't tried it. Expensive at peak holiday time though!

PairOfKittens · 07/05/2025 14:15

Neilson is exactly what you are looking for

Forgottenmyphone · 07/05/2025 14:21

Have a look at Lixouri Bay Beach Club with BeyondBeach.

For smaller / less all inclusive operators than MW and Neilson

BeyondBeach
Nikiana Beach Club
Club Vass
Wildwind
Minorca Sailing

Neilsons, Club la Santa or Mark Warner

Budget is around 6,000 and we'll be going in June (don't live in the UK). I'm struggling to narrow down a country! A friend suggested Clubmed in Portugal

Sea is going to be pretty chilly in June. I would head south Med - Turkey or Rhodes or Cyprus.

June I be heading south too. Greece etc Sardinia might be good. Yes to Neilsons etc but look for ones with really active tween clubs that include watersports. I would recommend Scott Dunn for that but 6k might not do it.

We did this sort of thing in May/June before we had a kid, in various parts of Greece ( paxos, kefalonia and the Peloponnese - i don’t remember the sea being at all chilly.

If you find somewhere that might be cooler then obviously you can take wetsuits.

If you’re going to a resort to do activities and water sports I don’t think the country itself is too important.

Carrie76 · 08/05/2025 07:48

I’m looking at Lyttos Beachin Crete, has anyone been there?

OP the best thing to do once you hone in on a couple of places is go onto Facebook. These bigger and more popular hotels have facebook groups and when I was looking to book one last year I joined them and asked a few questions it really helped. I had some similar criteria but our DC our older so we went for the Atlantico Mare in Cyprus which is wonderful but not huge on the watersports.

Most of the suggestions above operate as package holidays from the UK. if you're not based in the UK are you looking to flight out of there or do flights from your home country? If the later, most of our suggestions probably aren't much good. Club la Santa don't operate as a package, you book accommodation with them and organise your own flights but watersports aren't their strong point, it's a fairly small lagoon with kayaks, paddleboards and windsurfing.

I thought you wanted watersports? Other than swimming I see no mention of such thing on their website.....

Carrie76 · 09/05/2025 09:20

Thanks for the tips. We’ll be flying from our own country.
Lyttos have water sports and diving for an extra charge. I’m struggling to find somewhere that ticks all boxes.

IKOS include non motorised water sports, we have stayed at the DASSIA, pedloes, paddle boarding, a sunset cruise was included. I think also scuba trial sessions in the pool.
