Portugal in August?

Looking for a holiday somewhere not too hot in August. Currently torn between Majorca or Portugal. I can't find a villa in Majorca that's not really old fashioned or a bit dingy though.

Last time we went to Portugal in August it was really windy which spoiled it a bit as sitting outside restaurants for dinner was not pleasant. Is there anywhere likley to not be blowing a gale?

Have you looked at Menorca instead? I’d always opt for something med side personally-more pleasant conditions for sea swimming and less inclement weather! Could be worth having a look at Corsica as well?

Majorca can be boiling in August. A friend has a flat there and his wife and daughter spend most of the Summer holidays there.

He said that August can be mid thirties on a regular basis, so if you say “not too hot” than Majorca (and the other Med countries) may not work for you.

We spent a holiday in the Spanish Atlantic coast, windy but not as bad as Portugal. But the area is less touristic, more Spanish and German than Brits.
