Saint Andrews New Brunswick Family Rentals

Hi, flying into Saint John and then driving to Saint Andrews New Brunswick for a family reunion. Two questions:

  1. does anyone know of any large family houses in or near St Andrews, New Brunswick with a pool? We have a big family reunion and google is only offering me hotels or camping - it's quite a small town, so I am hoping there might be some insider knowledge out there!

  2. Can you rent bikes for all ages? I am told there are beautiful biking trails but I can't see any way of renting bikes. Again, Google fails me!

I think you’re going to struggle for a large rental! The town is teeny tiny and it’s preserved from 18th century British colonies so there aren’t really any new houses- lots of small wooden houses! We stayed at the Algonquin Resort (lovely) and I think it’s basically that or a few small B&Bs. Lovely places to eat though. Pretty sure the Algonquin also does bike hire- it seemed to be the centre of most activities in the town. I cannot emphasise how small it is though- absolutely lovely but tiny!

One of those places I’m surprised to see a Mnet thread on!

Hi! Lucky you, it’s a wonderful part of the world.
My cousins have just started renting out their family house, with a pool, in Saint Andrews. It sleeps 12 people - we stayed there with my 3 kids and my mother last summer and it’s a terrific house for family holidays. The website is https://peacockfarmhouse.lodgify.com/ or their Instagram is peacockfarm_standrews

It isn’t possible to rent bikes in the town - it should be, as there are lovely trails as you say, but there hasn’t been a bike rental place in town for about 10 years. If you’ve got any other questions, do ask as I’ve been summering there all my life and now go with my kids with huge joy

Also, previous poster is right that you can rent bikes from the Algonquin but usually only if you are staying there.

Wow, thank you both so much - this was much faster and more efficient than I was ever expecting!

We went last summer with our two kids and had the best time—such a lovely spot with loads to do without feeling hectic. If you're still looking for a place to stay, check out stay copper rock. It was clean, roomy, and walking distance to the water. The setup worked really well for us, especially having a kitchen for easy meals and extra space for the kids to hang out.

We've also stayed at the Algonquin but never rented a place. Thank you for that link @Peabody81. I've bookmarked it.

There used to be a bike shop in St Stephens, which is about a half hour drive. I don't recall that they rented them, but it might be worth giving them a call and asking if they do or know of anyone.

We've done a few fabulous whale watches out of St Andrews, @AnneTyler12345.

Hope you have a great time.
