Getting around Slovenia

Am planning a week in Slovenia this August- 2 adults and 2 older teenagers. Is it best to hire a car to get around or OK to rely on public transport? Is it an easy place to drive?

Whereabouts are you thinking of going?
We just used public transport and it worked well. Driving would be easy though. Roads were good.
Venice - Lake Bohinj - Ljubljana - Piran - Trieste.

We always hire a car in Slovenia and we will be doing again in August! The roads are some of the best I have driven on in the world! Slovenia is amazing! Have a great time!

Depends where you want to go. I used the bus mostly and it was fine, but a car gives more flexibility.

We got around by Flix buses and local buses. That was just two of us. When it is 4 of you, it probably is easier to hire a car.

Hired a car in Slovenia and driving was super easy to see the caves and lakes!
