Looking for a family holiday around the last week of the summer break for £2000 or so. Hotel, pool, one child, one teen, two adults. Any recommendations? Less to spend than in previous years, which I realise is still a privileged position to be in. TIA for any suggestions!

TUI Holidays | Live Happy | tui.co.uk - under budget, in Majorca, all inclusive + inclusive of flights

Daisydiary · 04/05/2025 20:31

Thanks but that’s only for three nights, was hoping for a little longer than that.

What dates exactly? From what airport?

As someone who has spent the last few weeks looking at holidays, I think your only real options will be the fly from Scotland and go to either Turkey or Tunisia. We were looking for 2 adults and 1 child and prices started from around £2,000 (tbh for some very questionable looking hotels)

Ah I didn't realise I had it set to that! What about this one? It's getting you to fly from Edinburgh as it's the cheapest option, but it'd still be under budget if you didn't go all inclusive and flew from Stansted. Alua Tenerife in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife | loveholidays.

Turkey self catering or bed and breakfast would be around that price the end of Aug

Daisydiary · 05/05/2025 17:07

Turkey might be a good call. Will have a look.

Jet 2 have some good packages

Does it have to be flights and hotel? Could you go to France and stay at a Eurocamp type place instead? Yelloh holiday villages are nice, some have great pools with slides, and a decent onsite restaurant. Ferry plus Accommodation would be well under 2k, leaving you with money for eating out etc

Daisydiary · 06/05/2025 21:11

@hazelnutlatte - that could also be an option. Can you recommend anywhere? A water park would be great.

We enjoyed Les Mouettes in Brittany, lovely outdoor pool with waterslides and a splash zone, good kids club activities, fun (but slightly mad and very French) evening entertainment and in a nice location on the outskirts of a nice little town. The beach next to the site not good but a really beautiful beach 10 mins drive away.
Downside is that it's Northern France, so good weather far from guaranteed, but there are similar holiday parks all over France so you could go further south if you want good weather.
Our accommodation was about 900 euros for the week and the Plymouth-Roscoff ferry about £600.
