Where to go?

Ok so we’re at a point of no return. Teenage daughter wants a holidays with sun, pool and beach , husband doesn’t want the boredom of it all, dislikes the heat and wants is us to go alone and leave him at home to care for the two dogs. Seeing the positives but so unsure where to go that’s going to mean I’m not pulling my hair out and a busy 16 year old is happy. Ideas pls 🙏🙏🙏

Go somewhere sunny that's near a coastal city and go off and do your own thing.

See if DD will come with you at least a couple of times, but if not, she'll be fine by herself by the pool.

Look at Malaga, Alicante, Palma or Barcelona area.

Somewhere like Benalmadena or Fuengirola might work as you can get the train into Malaga, do white villages tours, see castles and gardens locally and there's a massive outdoor shopping complex on the outskirts of Malaga that DD might like?

Do you want a typical resort? Or happy with a city?

Croatia, Sicily, San Sebastian, Rhodes, Crete - all places with great beaches combined with history and gorgeous towns and culture. Something for everyone!

Sorrento or Positano. Visit Vesuvius, Pompei, Capri. Or Sardinia and take her for boat rides, snorkelling, visit the caves and grottoes. I absolutely loved both of these trips as a teenager.

I would very happily go on holiday with just DD17 - she likes a mix of trendy bar/restaurants, mooching round shops and the pool. Places she has loved and places we still intend to go to are: nice bits of Ibiza, Corfu with access to Corfu town, Hvar in Croatia, Mallorca (various but loves trips to Palma), Taormina in Sicily
