Villa within a resort

Any recommendations?

We have two small kids (5/2) so don’t want to stay in a hotel room. Would prefer villa so we can put them to bed and have an evening.

Athough ideally within a resort? So we have access to pools, facilities, restaurants..etc

Somewhere in Europe.

Totally depends on your budget, Sani is great but the prices are extortionate

Look at Eden Resort in Portugal. They have a few villas. However, their usual accommodation is large enough for you to be able to have space away from sleeping children.

We stayed here a few years ago

We didn't stay in a villa we stayed in a suite (two separate bedrooms) but they have villas as part of the complex and the villa people can access all the pools/ restaurants etc. Food was good, no sunlounger issues, several pools and a nice variety of stuff to do.

Only downside for us was it was a bit far to walk into Cambrils in the evening with kids but the villas are right next to the bus stop/hotel reception.

Martinhal resorts in Portugal. Expensive though!

if you’re looking for somewhere amazingly child friendly, luxurious enough but relatively low key ( not crazy money) and small scale then check out Casario Del Mirador in Spain. It’s lovely apartments in a gorgeous house, the lady who runs it is amazing. Loads for kids to do and then they do kids tea and then an adults dinner once kids are in bed. We loved it with an almost two year old.

Villa Maria Suites in Costa Adeje Tenerife - brilliant when we went with toddlers

Does it have to be a villa or did you just really want a separate sleeping area for the DC?

If you search in this topic people have recommended some two bed offerings in resorts. I found that post v helpful.

Jet2 lets you filter on this room type so I often use that then price up elsewhere.

Be warned they often sell out or need to be booked direct! We’ve got a 2 bed apartment (but all inc) booked later this year at Hipotel Coma Gran in Majorca- had to book direct and they only gave 6 2 bed apartments but 100s of one beds.

We tolerate a one bed if we have to if there’s a big incentive like a swim up room etc. We hate all being in one room and DC at an age where they are more comfortable in a proper bed not a sofa bed.

Pine Hills in The Algarve. We’ve stayed a few times now in a 2 or 3 bed apartment (huge) with a kitchen / lounge / 2 balconies / 2 bathrooms etc. Villas are an option too but we’ve always been happy with an apt. We have teenagers so we all want our space!
