Multiple villas shared pool - does this exist?

We are trying to organise a family holiday next summer. There are four families in the extended family group and we would love to be together but in the words of my brother his wife needs a ‘safe room’ so we don’t drive her crazy. In fairness we all need our own space but proximity. I didn’t really want to go to a hotel and be ‘that family’ so ideally we are looking for 3/4 2 - 3 bed villas in the same complex / site with a share pool between us. Ideally in a nice little spot with delightful food to be found and ideally a little culture now and again. We like Greece and France. Spain and Portuga. Balearics. But open to anywhere honestly.

Does such a thing exist? Any pointers about where to start looking?
Thanks all!

Yes, we do big group holidays, so do this often, although there is often one property that accommodates 2 families then others that fit 1-2 families. Tend to look on VRBO/AirBNB initially, entering as many bedrooms as you need. There is also a website called group accommodation.com. In my experience (and we’ve been doing this for 20 years), the key is to have a minimum of one bathroom per family, and more bedrooms than you think you need to allow for weird configurations, kids wanting to split up/share across families etc.

We stayed here in the Dordogne last summer, it was really lovely, there are quite a few gites on the site, but the pools were never busy, plus it has tennis, ping pong etc. https://www.perigordgites.com/

Aphrodite hills in Cyprus has both private villas and villas or apartments with a shared/ communal pool. Maybe try searching for ‘resort’ villas

We have found quite a few places like this when putting a large number of people into AirBnB. I don't think it has a filter for it but I have definitely found them before.

Monte Santo resort in the Algarve. The townhouses with a pool view are around separate pools away from the main resort pools. There’s 3 groupings of pool side villas, each with a separate pool - you’d need to speak with the resort and make sure you were all in the same block.

The pools aren’t exclusive but during our stay our pool was very quiet & only used by the 8/10 or so villas around it.

Or you could push the boat out and stay at Martinhal in Sagres (also Algarve)

Yes I have stayed in villas in Majorca and Malta where 2-3 villas share a pool. Was a while ago so can't give links.

Try James Villas maybe?

Did you manage to find anywhere?

Oh sorry! No we didn’t. There’s been a bit of a medical set back with some members of the family
so the holiday is on hold for now. Hopefully we can start planning again soon

El Canuelo in the province of Malaga, near Periana is exactly this. A shred pool in a large garden, a restaurant for lunch/dinner for guests or external visitors (popular), and a few shared casitas (1-2 bedroom) and then a few houses with 2-4 bedrooms. I go with my siblings often and we each get our own casita for space with our own families, but the kids can run between the homes, share meals, and in the evening they are adjacent and we can share a terrace or restaurant meal. The restaurant terrace is close enough for our video monitors to work and you can see the doors (only entry points) to 3 of the casitas from there, so it’s really easy to actually enjoy a meal even if kids are asleep.
