Lapland or alternatives

Hello
I’ve been trawling the web for hours and I’m wondering…is Lapland worth it? We have 4 children from 3 - 11. Obviously it’s ridiculously expensive. We would like to visit Santa but are there better times to visit rather than pricey December? Or, are there cheaper great alternatives for a winter wonderland experience that are not in Finland?

Hi Shiva! Lapland is absolutely magical for families — especially with kids — but you’re right, December can be very expensive due to peak Christmas demand.
If you're open to alternative times, visiting in late January to March can still offer beautiful snowy landscapes, Santa experiences, husky rides, reindeer farms, and Northern Lights — often at much better prices and with fewer crowds. Many families actually prefer this period for a more relaxed experience.
