Thinking about this as a low-cost way to holiday this summer. Anyone done this? Did it work out well? Which organisations are recommended? thanks

Yes! We did one to the US last summer for a month and it worked out fab.

Swapped houses/ cars etc. Ours was great for them as they wanted access to London. Theirs was great for us, as it was near friends of ours in the US and had a beautiful pool etc.

We did it through HomeforExchange.com, but there are lots of others. Just be aware that the exchange companies really just provide the information on each others properties - they don't really get involved in the logistics of setting it up - that's down to you, and it CAN be time-consuming (especially the first time). We had an exchange agreement for both house and cars, and talked to the other family/ swapped photos etc before we committed.

We're doing another on this year!

Great, thanks for letting me know - going to take a look into it! Did the agent have a standard form of exchange agreement or did you prepare this yourself?
