I've researched so much that I've totally burned myself out.

Can anyone recommend a lovely beach side little town/ village and campsites in Brittany.
Ideally a nice white sandy beach that's safe for kids.
We love water slides and kayaking.
Hubby likes surfing so a surf beach half an hour away would be great.

We don't mind the size of the resort but hate it when they are crazy busy ( think Haven at Easter) we want to be able to enjoy the facilities.

Never been to Brittany before so don't know what these campsites are like? Are they full of screaming kids and drunk loud parents like some of the UK ones?

Thank you for any advice.

Les Mouettes at Carantec is probably the best for your family. Carantec is lovely and apparently the waterslides are getting an upgrade this year. Le Centre Nautique de Carantec does kayaking.

When I read kayaking in your post, I immediately thought of Camping Port Blanc within walking distance of the centre of Dinard. No swimming pool, but good facilities, lots going on for kids and direct access to a sandy beach with kayaking.

Raguenez has the most gorgeous white sandy beach. There’s not much in the way of amenities in the village, but that’s one of its charms. Camping du Vieux Verger is probably the best in the area and it has a couple of small waterslides.

We love Le Letty. This is just outside (walking distance) from Benodet - on the Atlantic coast.

We stayed at the Yelloh Village La Plage in Penmarch- good pool/water slides, direct beach access, easy cycling to nearby towns, short drive to La Torche for surfing.

Carnac or Trinite Sur Mer (they are very close to each other). Lots of holiday parks on Eurocamp in this area. Lovely sheltered sandy beaches. We’ve been to Brittany a few times (including Les Mouettes which is a brilliant holiday park) and this is the best area we have been to for beaches and interesting places to visit close by.

We stayed in L'Ocean Breton last summer. It's a Yelloh Village site. Fab clean site with loads of activities but doesn't have direct beach access. No screaming kids or lager louts 😁 It's about 5 mins drive to long sandy (non surf) beaches and I think it was about 20-30 mins to La Torche. The north coast of Brittany doesn't have much surf in summer so your best to try and be close to La Torche for your best chance. Benodet would be another good town to base yourself if you want a more traditional beach resort.
