Club Med is it worth it?

Are Club Med holidays worth the cost? We’re looking for a really nice family holiday this year. We have 3 kids aged between 10-15. Have been looking at Turkey and was about to book it but now I’m wondering is it worth the money? Have you been on a club med holiday, was it better than all your other ones?

I was so confused, as Club Med was an 18-30s tour operator when I was younger. 🤣

We went to club med Palmiye years ago and it was wonderful. Both my children talk about it even now. Look at a week when Europe is not on holiday as it’s mainly used by French ( at least when we went )

Yes they are great and the food is amazing. Unsurprisingly very French.

We went a lot when we lived in France, including at the tail end of the time when they used beads for money and also when some of the accommodation was in straw huts. If you look for the holiday village of Pakostane in Croatia, that's a former Club Med with those huts. We stopped going when the children were about 16, also because it went relentlessly upmarket every year.

Expect the level of English to be rudimentary, although French people are getting better at it. Example from a tennis tournament at a Club Med many years ago, won by a Brit: "Alors, Dave, félicitations, vous êtes le vainqueur"... (Dave looks bemused)... "Euhhh... Dave, congratulations, you are ze <merde c'est quoi vainqueur en anglais?>, euhhh, you are ze wankeur".
