Where to go in June / July - taking advantage of off peak opportunities!

We are in the lucky and rare position of being able to take a week out in late June / early July to go away. We don't usually fly because DS can't cope with the airports in school holidays, but we might be ok at that time.

So am looking for suggestions of warm, pretty places for us to stay for a week, that would otherwise be too expensive and busy in peak time / school holidays. We love little fishing villages with quiet beaches. Don't need nightlife or activities nearby - happy with a few little restaurants. We'd be hiring a car.

Any suggestions welcome!

Crete 😍. Fly into Chania then go to Kalyves or Almyrida. There are other villages along that Northern coast line from Chania too - it’s divine.

Menorca - Cala Galdana
Majorca - Port de pollensa
Halkidiki - Neos Marmaris (although quite a drive from thessoliniki airport) we stayed in Thessoloniki for a couple of days too.
Croatia - Cavtat
Crete - Rethymnon
Rhodes - Lindos

All of these might tick your boxes if you want to give them a closer look. Have a lovely holiday xx _

Unfortunately most other countries in Europe break up for the summer holidays in mid June, so unless you can go at the beginning of June (generally the week straight after half term), it will be peak season across Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal etc….

I was going to say the same as @Forgottenmyphone
all the European countries are in their summer breaks.
also, airports are busy all the time and at that time of year you wouldn’t notice the difference between late June and mid August.
However if you can get past those fact then there are lots of pretty places you can go - I would highly recommend jersey - only 30 mins flight from Gatwick, ( not sure from other airports)and there’s so much to do.

Thank you all. Some good suggestions and yes good point re: schools in Europe. I guess at least flights might be slightly cheaper? Perhaps I'm clutching at straws but worth a try!

Look at Sant Elm or Portocolom, Majorca.

I completely agree with this.
