Venice restaurant recommendations please

We're going to Venice for 4 nights soon & i would like some recommendations for restaurants / bars please?

I know there's literally a restaurant on every corner but it's so hard to not end up eating badly there if you don't know what you're doing. We've been before & had some disappointing meals . We've also had some amazing ones in places like Da Ivo. But they're v pricey

We have Da Ivo booked for one of the nights but we're looking for other mid range priced places to try. We like traditional trattorias etc & we're def not looking for Michelin stars (or that cost)

If you've eaten anywhere you would recommend, please share? Thanks

I can’t remember specific restaurant name so possibly not overly helpful but a tip we were given was that the restaurants in the area on the other side of the Accademia bridge are more reasonably priced and decent quality. Was certainly our experience and other friends we have passed that on to have agreed. Can’t claim to be a Venice expert however so hopefully someone with more knowledge can help with more specifics.

Agree with pp, we stayed near the Accademia bridge (Accademia side, not St Marks side) and there were a few good restaurants there.

We liked the Taverna San Trovaso and Al Vecio in that area. Food slightly preferred at San Trovaso but Al Vecio has a very cute outdoor seating area in a side passage.

Gelateria Lo Squero down the road from San Trovaso was the best we found

Cicchetti trails are good fun (just google for an itinerary) and a cheaper way of seeing a few bars and different places.

Really agree with trying Cicchetti - we had such a lovely evening just traipsing around bars and restaurants standing up an eating - really good and reasonably priced.
