I'm looking for ideas for beachy resorts or towns in the South of France, possibly flying to Nimes. We're a family of 5 and like swimming pools, good food and history. Thank you.

Frejus and Port Grimauld for history, the beach at Agay is lovely.

We went to Le Grau-du-Roi after flying in to Nimes, because it has a good sandy beach, enough to keep the dc occupied and it’s accessible by train (very scenic) from Nimes. It’s very close to the famous pink saltwater marshes in the medieval city of Aigues-Mortes.

In Le Grau-du-Roi, we stayed at Oustau Camarguen. It’s very central and has bike hire which was useful for us as we didn’t have a car. The duplex rooms sleep 5. Bonus that it has a heated pool!

Palavas Les Flots is nice, also Le Grau de Roi.
