Sun shade that's portable?

I'm going on a sunny beach holiday with some friends who tolerate sun better than I do. I'm looking for a recommendation of some kind of beach tent / portable shade I can take. Ideally something I can lie down with in the shade. Needs to be of a packable size for the plane and easy to carry. Any recommendations please?

We always take a sun tent on holiday with us. I saw one that packed really small in decathlon the other day. I can’t find it online but it was in our local store.

OP, it depends how far off the beaten track you are going. Most beach areas which cater for tourists sell sunshades etc at a negligible price. It saves the hassle of trying to pack it and can be passed on to someone when you leave.

The packed size is * *Dimensions in Carry Bag - 53cm (l) x 8cm (w) x 8cm (h)

We have this style, they are brilliant. Can't remember exactly which one mine is but it fits nicely in a backpack, we have cycled around with it to the beach. They go anywhere and provide a big patch of shade without turning in to a little greenhouse because they have great airflow.

Really easy. You spread it out, either peg it or fill the bags with sand or shingle so they stay in place and pop the poles under the ends you want to raise up. You can easily move the poles depending on the sun without having to move the rest of the shelter.
