Any suggestions? We have a week, ds is quite quiet but likes outdoors and cities, want something easily organised without driving, I like swimming, neither of us want to melt in a heatwave.

Brighton?

Copenhagen?

Both for your description.

Switzerland?

Iceland? You could stay in Reykjavik and get organised tours out to some of the main nearby sights. It’s a good time of year for whale watching and in late June you’ll be able to witness the ‘midnight sun’.

Switzerland. Mm. Is it a bit staid for a Young Person? Where would you go @OccasionalHope ?

Interlaken area is a good choice for a first visit to Switzerland. Loads to do in that area, mountain trips and activities, two lakes, although I’d recommend a hotel with a pool for swimming Bern is not far for a city visit and is very attractive.

Public transport is excellent. and it’s really easy to do DIY not with a package, although those are available too. Fly into Zurich or Geneva and get the train to your destination.
