Lake Constance or Lake Maggiore?

Hello
looking for somewhere to stay for 5-7 days after a few days in Zürich, have been looking at Lake Constance and Lake Maggiore but not sure if either is right for us. Would be me, DH and children aged 13 and 11, we are not particularly outdoorsy (not into hiking etc) although the children might enjoy paddleboarding etc. We like nice towns, nice food, shopping, boat trips etc. We went to Lake Garda last year which was good but that had stuff to do like Gardaland and Movieland etc, Just not sure if Constance or Maggiore would be a bit boring for us? We won’t have a car so will be relying on public transport.
Also stayed in a really nice hotel on Lake Garda with multiple pools etc, which was great in the heat. I am struggling to see anything similar on Lake Constance that I like (except Riva hotel which is over budget for the 4 of us).

Any thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated,

I love this place and recommend it all the time. It is not cheap though. Stresa though is lovely. Boat trips to the islands - there are 3 different ones to visit. Botanical gardens on the other side of the lake from Stresa. There's a animal park within walking distance and Alpy Land. You can do a train ride and get the boat back the length of the lake, which I have planned for next time. Day trip to Milan on the train. The pools are lovely. Plenty of places to eat nearby which are very reasonable.

Where did you stay on lake garda OP? Looking for recommendations!

it was really nice as it was very hot so we just spent most of the day at the pool and went out at night, it’s not totally in the centre of Bardolino but there was a shuttle and it would be walkable if not so hot. We were fine not being in the centre of things as we had already had a week in Peschiera at a nice little apartment, if you would like details of that then let me know and I will find them
