Best long haul holiday destinations and best age with baby?

Hello,

Does anyone have any destination recommendations for a holiday with a 4-6 month old baby? I know lots of people will say ‘don’t plan a holiday before you’ve given birth’ but this is purely just wanderlust at the moment and for some potential ideas!

We’d be looking to go somewhere warm and good value for money between January-March. Perhaps 2 weeks. We have companion vouchers and quite a lot of avios to use if we can find reward flights. So, will hopefully be able to go business which is a novelty and luxury for us! Tossing up Oman (never done the Middle East), Mauritius (weather might be a problem), SA (can’t find reward flights) and Bali (been before but would love to go again). Open to any other suggestions!

I know it completely depends on baby and how we’re coping but as I said, this is just for ideas. Or better still, if someone has done a similar trip and survived (and enjoyed) it!

It depends on the baby. I didn’t fly with my daughter until she was 8. Other people are very different. My brother and SIL flew as long haul as you can get with their kids from a young age.
I frankly didn’t have the courage to try - I travelled all over the world pre marriage

I live in the UAE so we go to Oman at least once a year. It's definitely not good value for money, we always notice how expensive it is compared to eating out here. We usually get a club room at Jumeirah Muscat Bay to manage the cost a bit better. We've booked an apartment in Mauritius for December and it was amazing value compared to hotel prices there, given that we don't use the spa and other facilities in hotels much. Thailand is really good value.
