Costa Rica May/June - what to wear?

Think wildlife spotting in the rainforest and trying to keep cool and free from creepy crawlies and mozzies, rather than looking glamorous on the beach.
Any experiences or suggestions?
Thank you.

long trousers and long sleeve shirts. We use the nosilife ones. Def long trousers in the forest, we had a few encounters with ants...!

Great place

We went last year (end of rainy season though) and I actually didn't need as much as I thought. I'd been worried about dressing for the rainforest but it was fine, everyone was wandering about fairly normally dressed. I wore leggings and a gym zipper (+/- light raincoat) for evening rainforest walks and in the cloud forest but in Arenal and Manuel Antonio just wore shorts and a vest top. Look at places like Acai, I got nice waterproof shorts and a light pac-a-mac. Take light closed toe waterproof walking shoes (I got nice Salomon ones) and also water shoes depending on your plans. Also worth noting that things do not dry (e.g. on a balcony) due to the humidity, so if you're taking swimwear take plenty and don't rely on re-wearing it.

Also I took an umbrella and it was a genius move, as some days were warm but wet. It was also useful as a parasol on sunny days, being that near the equator is no joke.

Really useful folks, thank you. Was overthinking it I think!
