My DH and I enjoy holidays in UK often, we have been to Wales many times but not Borth. love nature, birds animals waterfalls, beaches, can travel up to about 40 miles if it sounds good. Just want honest opinions here rather than reading reviews. It's in a couple of weeks time , we are also going to Skomer island again in July, love it

There's a lot of lovely things to see around there. Within short-ish driving distances... But in Borth itself, there is very little. I wouldn't want to be staying there for a week with no car.

We have a car, just wanted to narrow the driving down but we can go further if needed, just thought there might be some hidden gems known by locals within a certain radius

I don’t think I’d go to Borth, except as a base for other stuff. It’s really small and there isn’t a lot there.

It is just a base to be in a different part of Wales, nature and wildlife and a change of scenery,

We went to Borth a couple of years ago, we liked it as a base.
It has plenty of Birdwatching and wildlife places, keep an eye out for Adders.
If you like the Netflix series Hinterland a lot of it is filmed in the local area and we found it good to see the locations and houses.
Devils bridge is a nice place you can drive or get the steam train from Aberystwyth.
Travel further south to
Aberaeron
New Quay ( we have sen Dolphins from the council carpark!)
And Aberporth are all really nice too
North from Borth is Machynlleth go on Market day I think its Wednesday as its alive.
Tywyn is a beach resort, nice little place, then up the coast to Fairborn, some like it some don't as it's quiet, you can walk across a bridge to Barmouth or drive .
Fancy something totally unique?
Not for everyone, but a very short drive from the beautiful Aberporth beach
