East Mediterranean cruise or Mexico area holiday for two of us in October ?

We will be child free in October so looking at s holiday for the two of us. Our plan was a cruise around Greek islands and surrounding regions. However, I’ve just seen that we could go to Mexico or the Dominican Republic all inclusive for less money. We can only go for a week.
Any advice on which to go for ?

Cruise. Wouldn’t go to Mexico if you paid me.

Places are cheap for reasons.

Mexico and DR are cheap because it’s hurricane season.

Ah now I looked at the weather and it suggested it would be warm and not much rain ?

Mexico in October might be fine. But it is prime hurricane season so no way I’d be going then. Dominican Republic I wouldn’t go if you paid me.

Is DR not as fancy as I thought then ?

Any suggestions for an alternative week to a cruise in October? Not the canaries as we’ve been there loads.

Mexico is fabulous. The people are warm and friendly and the food is amazing.

DR isn't fancy at all, it's the cheapest of all AI style places.
Mexico is better if you pick the right resort. The later the better to reduce hurricane risk. It's a long flight for a week though.

I highly recommend Los Cabos where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. It’s safe and the fish tacos are heavenly.

Mexico is fab (caveats apply) but it's hurricane season. I've been in that part of Mexico / Caribbean several times during October and only had to be evacuated once for a hurricane but you need to factor in your attitude to risk and tolerance for being in a potential extreme weather situation.

What about Morocco?

Mexico 100% we went in October a couple of years ago and it was the best holiday, beautiful country and great weather. We had a couple of cloudy mornings but it was still very hot. While it is Hurricane season it is towards the end of it but it is something you need to factor in.

Mexico is a really long way for a week. What about a diff Caribbean island to DR (I agree it’s a bit rubbish) or a Caribbean cruise? (They’re often much cheaper than med ones so that might cover the added flight cost)
