Yes you do need one, definitely.

Tukey isn't yet a member of the EU, so you need travle insurance, not an E111.

For info though, you now need to apply to get the EU health card rather than E111 - get the form from the post office and it willgive you the number (or google it). You call somewhere in newcastle and they get sent out within a week.

don't think the e1 11 form exists anymore. you now get a card-like a credit card-through the post.you have to apply through the post office i think

E11 forms do not exist anymore...you need to apply for a card!!

we got caught out by this when we wnet to lux a couple of years back.....it has not been well advertised that they are not available anymore.

we went with the form sent off, no cards, but a 'proof of sending' thingy so if we needed treatment then they had some way of prooving we were covered IYGWIM.

go to the post office tomorrow tho....you may get lucky and get the card before you leave

For Turkey you need Health Insurance - don't think they have a reciprocal agreement with the UK?

E111 is only for EU countries and so I don't think you need the E111 cards but just some travel insurance...

now an EHIC. As long as you have applied for it and got the reference number you are covered( they can then call and confirm cover if needs be). So you should be able to do so online or over the phone still. Turkey may have signed up to it even if not EU yet but that link should tell you where it is valid. You should also have travel insurance too anyway.
