Bodyboarding in Portugal

Looking for advice about where to go (location & hotel advice) for body boarding in Portugal. Not super scary waves but enough to have fun for older kids (and me - still love a bit of body boarding) thanks so much

We are in Praia de rocha and boys have been body boarding this week. Perfect waves.

Sintra is known for surfing and bodyboarding conditions. Praia Grande beach is even recognised as a world cup beach for bodyboarding. It has a few restaurants, free parking and showers all along the beach. Praia das Macas and Praia do Magoito are better for beginners. There are a few surf schools in the area which have boards and wetsuits for hire.

What sort of place are you looking for?

Either villa or family friendly hotel with suites or interconnecting rooms

Arribas Sintra if you want to be right by the beach, or Penha Longa Resort if you don’t mind a short drive.
