Porto, Lisbon or Madrid?

For a three day break with my DD16.

She is interested in (and I quote) "instagrammable streets with places I can sit outside and drink coffee and look at the hot locals" 🤣

She likes mooching round old towns, eating local cuisine and preferably a beach or hotel with a pool.

Me too. I got back today and much preferred Porto. Lisbon is a typical capital city.

Lisbon has protests about Airbnb kicking out locals. Porto being years behind in popularity learnt from this

Of the 3 Lisbon was my favourite and the only one I would bother going back to (I have been to Madrid a couple of times though). Porto lacked the community vibe of an evening I think. Lisbon has loads to see plus nice shops.

What about Taormina in Sicily, Rome, Budapest etc.

We live in Edinburgh so we are bound by the direct flights available for a three night stay (definitely lots of options though).

I am considering widening the net. She is very lucky and went to Rome for the Six Nations game last year, and I'm recently back from Budapest. I'd like to go somewhere new for both of us.
