Hotel recommendations - small / contemporary / pool / beachfront / local town / not too far from airport??

Can anyone help?

Had a last minute short break last year to a "perfect" hotel in Kefalonia - about 20 mins in a taxi from airport, small-ish (not part of a chain), picture-postcard location, lovely pool, had its own little beach, walkable to local tavernas etc. Not particularly expensive, just suited what we wanted for a 3 or 4 day break.

The price of flights seems to have tripled this year so looking to see if we can find another similar-ish hotel somewhere else? Any ideas?

If you don’t mind a short ferry transfer, have a look at Dunatovi Dvori Heritage Hotel in Croatia

Ischia Blue Resort - though does involve a short hyrdrofoil trip from Naples, or www.hotelhelvetia.it - train from Pisa. Hotel Belles Rives in Juan les Pins - but not very cheap.
