Canada (West Coast/Rockies) Road trip

Has anyone done a Canada West Coast Road trip? Looking at something for next year. We have 3 weeks and will be 3 adults (young adult DD coming). We definitely want to visit Vancouver Island (Tofino) and definitely want plenty to time for wildlife spotting (bears, whales, otters, birds). Then thinking about driving via Whistler, Wells Grey NP, Icefields Parkway etc?

Is there anything we shouldn’t miss or could avoid? Who did you book with or did you do it all independently? Thanks for any tips. We will stay in cabins/hotels not in an RV.

Also is @bea still on mumsnet? I found a post they had commented on a few years ago about their Canada trip and it sounded great. If they are still here I’m wondering who they booked with. Thanks! X

I've done this exact same itinerary about 15 years ago and was camping. It was amazing. In Wells Gray we stayed at a campsite the had old pioneer wagons which were good, went horse riding in the mountains, an overnight kayak/camping trip to an uninhabited island (Clearwater lake) and a hike up a mountain-ish (eagles view).
We went mountain biking in Whistler (ski lift up and bike down the ski slopes! There was a lovely sunbathing lake and a cool First Nations museum.
Lake Louise was a bit meh but Moraine Lake was gorgeous.
Banff was super busy but nice, did some nice hikes.
We stayed at Waterton Lake and you can cross the border into the US and get a cool stamp in your passport of a mountain goat (Goat Haunt crossing). This is where we saw eagles and bears.
I'd love to do it again but maybe not sleep in a tent for 3 weeks solid!
