Have just booked a last minute trip to Japan, as had a companion voucher to use before 23rd of April. We are going for seven days flying into Tokyo, what are the must sees, do we base ourselves in Tokyo the whole time or should we split with Kyoto. Any other tips appreciated.

I would probably base myself in Tokyo for that amount of time especially if your return flights leaves from Tokyo.

There is a long running and very informative thread called Japan Planning Thread which will be a good place for you to start making plans.

You must be leaving soon...😎

Joining as going to Japan as a first timer in June!

Going for 10 days - 4.5 days in Kyoto, 5.5 days in Tokyo. Planning on day trips to from Tokyo, also possible Disney.

Any advice or suggestions?

I was going to direct you to the Japan Planning threads Takoneko started but I see you have found the Part 2 already. Lots of information on that thread and the original thread.

I suggest you have a read through and pencil in an itinerary that interests you and ask for advice on your proposal. Japan has so much to see and do to appeal to personal choice that its hard to help plan a holiday for someone else with a little direction.
