Greek holiday ideas - Halkidiki ?

Looking for somewhere for a week at the start of September. Me and DH and 2 adult DD. We love Greece and have enjoyed Cephalonia in particular. Thinking of Kos or Rhodes but flight times (flying from Birmingham) aren’t great so have also been looking at Halkidiki. Has anyone been to Afitos? Want somewhere not too busy, nice beach, places to visit. Any ideas would be great. Budget around 4k. Thank you.

We’re going to Peloponnese on the mainland. It’s near Olympia and looks amazing (but not been yet). We did consider Halkidiki and that does look nice too.

Take a look at Skiathos, really laid back island with fantastic cheap bus service connecting all the resorts. I’d particularly look at Agia Paraskevi, Troulos or Koukinares as they have stunning safe sandy beaches.

We usually do islands but went to Halkidiki in 2022. Absolutely loved it. Quieter than islands and picturesque. Bulk of the tourists were Serbs, Bulgarians and Romanians who had driven south and they tended to get together on their balconies of an evening so the bars in the hotel were very quiet.

We didn’t go to the resort you mentioned but would recommend Ouranoupoli.

We flew to Thessaloniki and the transfer was over two hours each way so despite great flight times it was a long day getting there.
