Apartment or villa with private pool and breakfast

Hello! We are looking for our next European holiday and was hoping someone would have some recommendations. We’ve always gone for 5 star all inclusive resorts with our DC but arent sure anymore if we like that. Although it’s nice not having to cook or clean or think on an all inclusive holiday, we did get quite sick of the all inclusive buffet where even if it’s not too busy you still have someone practically standing on your head as you pick your food. Also we hate crowds around the pool and sunloungers being taken up. Just sick of too many people at these resorts. We will also be stuck with school holidays from next year so all the resorts will be heaving.
im put off self catering because of the cooking and cleaning and also because one of the nice parts of going on holiday for me is having a nice hotel breakfast.
So I was wondering if we could find an apartment in Europe with a private pool but with breakfast provided and close to restaurants so we can eat out for dinner. Does anything like that exist? Would love some recommendations. Our DC is 4 years old. Thanks x

I wouldn't rule out doing your own breakfast. We did an apartment in the algarve last year, we had a car so drove to the supermarket a couple of times to stock up on fruits, pastries, yogurts, juice, etc. It was really cheap and a huge selection. It was actually lovely to be able to take it slowly in the mornings, eat on the balcony, let the teen sleep etc. We went out for lunch and dinner.

@WonderingWanda yes id consider this. It’s breakfast on our own terrace that we want rather than at the all inclusive buffet with crowds of people.

@Forgottenmyphone - that looks really nice. Will definitely look into it. I see there’s an option to get food delivered too which will be really great as we wouldn’t hire a car.

@Fleurchamp thanks! Looks amazing. I wish I had the confidence to drive abroad, our options are so limited with no car.

Baobab Suites in Tenerife has apartments with private pools but is a hotel and you can either have a breakfast box delivered to your room or go to one of the restaurants. It’s up a bit of a hill but we just got a taxi home after dinner.

Thanks @Piratejenny99 this is exactly the sort of thing we’re looking for.

Just stay in self catering accommodation and go out for breakfast. Much more choice.

Another vote for both Villa Maria and baobab

my 2 have walked down since 3 & 4 and taxi back.

we tend to do half board as they have 2 proper restaurants that are full service vs buffet.

no need to book pool room as the pool is super quiet.

not a villa version but we adore the gf Victoria it’s in front of the baobab.

Thanks everyone great ideas. I’ll price these up. Willing to spend a bit for the right thing but don’t want to waste money on all inc when we don’t drink and end up just either getting bored or complaining about the lack of privacy.

The Victoria is the only place we feel like we have a holiday as well, they don’t offer all inclusive and I think it makes a massive difference to the hotel.

we go in school holidays and can easily move around the pools and get beds at all times of the day and it’s down the hill so little legs can walk for evening meals and so much choice on your doorstep.

We stayed at Marni Village in Crete. Apartments and Villas with private pools plus main pools and hotel facilities ie bar/restaurant. Close to the gorgeous village of Koutouloufari.

That's what we always did. Breakfast in the villa, swimming, Lunch out, then back for siesta. Then swimming, followed by a stroll around and dinner. Very laid back, always something in the fridge for snacking on.

Thanks all. Marni village in Crete looks amazing and very reasonable.
